Please note all Glass devices purchased through Chironix will already have the latest version of Glass firmware installed so the following steps may be unnecessary.
Simply check if you have the latest version of Glass Enterprise firmware (OPM1.210124.001 )installed on your device here.
If you need to update to the latest version, you will first need to Enable USB Debugging for your Glass device to be recognised by your PC.
1. Enable USB debugging
1.1 Connect the Glass device to your PC via the USB-C cable.
1.2 On your Glass display, from the homescreen navigate to the Settings menu and tap once.
1.3 Swipe right five times to Developer options and tap once.
1.4 You will see Enable (or Disable) developer options and swipe once to the right.
1.5 Here you will see USB debugging Disabled.
1.6 Tap once and the display will say Enable USB debugging.
1.7 Tap once again and the display should now read USB debugging Enabled.
2. Download Glass Enterprise firmware
2.1 On your PC, navigate to the Glass Enterprise webpage and select Update Firmware.
2.2 The latest version of Glass firmware is displayed on the top row. Select the Flash link next to the latest version.
2.3 You may also be prompted to Allow access to the ADB Keys. Select OK.
2.4 If your device is detected the flash drive will indicate Connected.
If you see No devices available check that USB debugging is still enabled, as per Step 1 above.
If the device is still not showing, try selecting Add new device to see if your computer can detect the GGE2 unit.
If it says Auth pending check the Glass display to see if the ‘Allow USB Debugging’ prompt has appeared and tap to allow.
If not, disconnect and then reconnect the USB cable to prompt this function.
2.5 Once detected, select your device and click Install to begin the update.
2.6 Select “Confirm” when you are ready to start the update.
NOTE: DO NOT unplug your device or interrupt this process.
2.7 You may need to Enable USB Debugging again when prompted.
2.8 As the device begins the process, it will restart into Fast Boot mode.
You may be prompted to find or Reselect device.
The device may be called “Android” while in Fast Boot mode.
After reselecting the device, it should download and install the updated software.
2.9 Once complete, you will be prompted to lock the device. Select Start to begin.
You may also be prompted to interact with the Glass device to allow or complete this process.
Once complete, the device will restart.
- If you are unable to find your device when starting the process you may require loading the Glass Driver for Windows by following the instructions found here.
- If the updating process is interrupted or cancelled, we recommend checking the version within Glass here.
- If you are unable to use the device after an installation has failed or been interrupted, please start the update process again to confirm that the device has been successfully updated.
